Carolina Lao was born in Manizales, Colombia but her career began in Bogotá. In that city from a very young age, she began her studies at a Catholic school and then took what was not to be expected, the career of Business Administration at the Extremado University of Colombia, the most recognized there.
Caro joined the artistic world in 1995, forming part of the group “Alquimia La Sonora del XXI”, in which she was the vocalist who showed her audience all her talent. Along with this famous group, Carolina has grown by leaps and bounds, she was presented with the opportunity to travel around the world and win the audience she deserved. Incredibly throughout this tour, Lao had the opportunity to sing alongside famous artists like Celia Cruz, whom he admires and respects, at Madison Square Garden.
It is in 1999 that Carolina had to choose in life, and she finally decided to take her first steps as a solo singer. “The Son Of Now” It was Lao’s first album, the one that reaffirms his talent as a tropical singer but now solo.
After his second solo album, “Sweet poison”, with which she consolidates her name as a first-class performer enjoying these beautiful moments.
Later comes his third work titled simply “Carolina”, where he managed to venture into the pop genre.
Then Carolina La O, that’s her artistic name, prepares for the launch of “The candle of my fire”, his last, so far, musical production where he returns to his origins and fuses the folk rhythms of his country with Latin pop.
