Anthony LaPaglia was born in 1959, in Adelaide South Australia.
Of Italian and German descent, he currently resides in Santa Monica California, and has adopted a more American accent, in order to get more work as an actor, upon moving to America.
Has two brothers, Michael Y Jonathan, who are also based in the United States and are actors.
In his youth, he attended Rostrevor College.
During the ’80s, he was a scorer for the national soccer team, playing in the team Adelaide City, Y West Adelaide. Today, he is part owner of the club Sydney fc, from league A.
He has been, in relation to his history in soccer, the executive producer of the successful documentary “The away game”, which was about this sport and the experiences of Australian footballers in Europe.
Currently, and with a hip replacement through, he continues to play in amateur soccer organizations such as Hollywood United.
Among his first works as an actor, there are participations in series such as “Amazing story “(1985), “Magnum ”(1986), “Hunter”(1987), “Gideon oliver”(1989), among others.
His first movie was “Deadly steel”In 1987, which was starred by Sharon Stone, and in which he had the role of Spooky.
Then would come roles in “Wedding passed by water”(1990) with Joe pesci Y Madeleine kahn, “He said she said”(1991) starring Kevin bacon Y Elizabeth perkins, “Whispers in the dark”(1992), with Anabella sciorra, Y “Fresh blood, an insatiable girl “(1992).
In 1994, he was part of “The client”, Film based on the book by John grisham, and starring Susan Sarandon Y Tommy lee jones. That same year, he performed with Peter boyle, on “Hired murderer”.
It was part of “Empire Records”(1995) with the role of Joe reavers, and with actresses like Liv tyler Y Renee Zellweger. Also, in 1997, he appeared in “Crying out to heaven” with Courtney cox Y Aidan Quinn.
Between 1996 and 1997, he would have participations in the series “Murder One”, in which I would play Jimmy Wyler.
By the end of the 90’s, I work at “Phoenix “(1998) with Anjelica huston Y Daniel baldwin, “No one is safe from Sam”(1999) with Look sorvino Y Adrien brody, Y “Agreements and disagreements”(1999), directed by Woody Allen and with the performance of Sean Penn.
Between 2000 and 2004, he appeared in several episodes of the series “Frasier”, for whose role I win an award Emmy.
In 2000, he would star “The house of joy”, with Gillian Anderson, Dan Aykroyd Y Laura linney. That year he would also do “Autumn in New York“, Which would be starring Winona ryder Y Richard Gere.

He is currently married to the actress Gia carides, with whom he has a daughter named Bridget.
