Talented soprano singer who appeared on the fifth season of America’s Got Talent, Jackie Evancho is best known for her work in the classic crossover genre.
Born April 9, 2000 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline Marie Evancho (who also plays violin and piano) began taking singing lessons in 2008 at the age of eight. By 2010, he had already gone through a local singing contest; started his own YouTube channel; released his independent debut album, Prelude to a Dream; and held the record as the youngest opera singer in the world.
After such achievements, Evancho won a spot in the fifth season of America’s Got Talent from NBC. While on the show, the ten-year-old wowed audiences and judges alike with technical skill, lyricism, and stage presence that belied her age. Ultimately, however, he finished second behind Michael Grimm. After his run on America’s Got Talent, Evancho released the Christmas EP / DVD Or holy night, via Columbia Records.
In the spring of 2011, Evancho presented Dream with me, his full-length debut, which was produced by David Foster and featured a mix of arias, show tunes, and pop classics. Jackie Evancho: Dream with Me in Concert, was a live performance of the songs that first captured the hearts of his audience, along with new selections of classic crossover, which followed that fall. Released just a few months after Dream with Me, Heavenly Christmas revisited the splendor of 2009’s O Holy Night.
In 2016, he released his second Christmas music collection, Someday at christmas. Arriving in the spring of 2017, his next album, Two hearts, consisted of two discs. The first featured ten classic crossover tracks of the kind for which she had become known, while the second album was in the form of an EP of five more pop-oriented original songs, four of which were co-written by Evancho. In 2019, it issued The Debut, covering songs from a handful of hit Broadway productions, including Hamilton, The Greatest Showman, Waitress, and others.
