After finishing high school, he began studying at the Baptist University of America, which he left shortly after having tried working in comedy and deciding to follow that path.
He began his career as a DJ on a radio station in Blue Springs (Missouri); and began to become known in the early 90’s, when he made telephone radio appearances on programs such as The Ron and Ron Show, The Chris Baker Show, The Todd and Tyler Show, Kirk, Mark, and Lopez morning show, and others in cities like Omaha, Baltimore, Kansas City and Orlando.
Whitney he became really famous for the character he developed in his stand-up routines, “Larry“a stereotyped”redneck“, a term that is used to identify poor farmers in some regions of the United States. In addition to countless performances and numerous commercials in which he was characterized as this character, he also released eight comedy albums, the first two of which ( 2001 and 2005), received the Gold Record.
In 2006 he was contacted by the television channel “Comedy Central“, to lend his voice to a character in a new animated series, which was not finally broadcast, but made several specials for that channel.
In 2011 his new television series “Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy“which debuted quite successfully on The History Channel.
In addition to his work as a comedian, Larry he has acted in some feature films; the first of them was “Cars“(2006), in which he lent his voice for the character of the Mate crane, role that he repeated in the recently released “Cars 2“(2011). His second film, based on his classic character, was”Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector“(2006), whose cast led and this one they followed”Delta Farce“(2007) and”Witless Protection“(2008).
In his personal life he is married to his wife Whitney face, since 2005. The couple has two children, a boy named Wyatt and a girl named Reagan.
