Deacon Blue – Biography of Deacon Blue

Deacon Blue is a Scottish group that was formed in 1985. They have played music of different styles as time went by, including pop and rock.

The group’s first album, called “Raintown”, was released in the UK. But it wasn’t until they came out with their second album, which they called When The World Knows Your Name “that they really started to break through and reach the top of the UK charts. The song “Real gone kid”, which was included in said album, made them very popular in Europe and in many other countries.

In 1991, they released the album “Fellow Hoodlums”, which stands out for the change in musical style, which became blues and rock. The critics were very good, and they obtained several contracts to act by all Europe.

Within a year of releasing their third album, “Whatever You Say, Say Nothing,” drummer Dougie Vipond decided to leave the group. This caused a crisis within the band, which separated for 5 years, despite the fact that they were releasing some compilations.

His attempts to succeed alone were unsuccessful, and in 1999 the group rejoined, although only with the aim of holding a massive concert in which they presented their new album “Walking Back Home.”

In 2001 they got together again to present their new work “Homesick” and go on a UK tour with him.

The band has continued to write songs, and they have confirmed on social media that they are going to release a new album, the release date of which is scheduled for late fall 2012.
