Writer, Special Effects Creator, and Film Director Neill bolmkamp was born on September 17, 1979 in the city of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Blomkamp He was 18 when he moved to Canada with his family, enrolling in Vancouver Film School and graduating in 1998 from the 3D Animation and Visual Effects Program. Determined to pursue a career in film and television, he began working as a special effects designer for The Embassy Visual Effects in Vancouver and Rainmaker Digital Effects.
Recognized as one of the brightest talents in the industry, Blomkamp He was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Visual Effects at the age of 21. Soon after, he moved into management, first as a music video director and then as a publicity director.
He quickly emerged as a uniquely talented director, combining CGI with live action while incorporating elements of excitement, fun and atmosphere. In addition to having directed advertisements for Nike, Citroen, Gatorade, Panasonic and Namco, Blomkamp He also directed several famous short films, including one financed by Wieden and Kennedy, entitled “Tempbot“, which won the best film award at the No Spot Short Film Festival.

In 2009 Blomkamp premiered his first feature film “District 9”, produced by Peter Jackson. The film received four nominations for the 2009 Oscar Awards, in the categories, Best Film, Best Visual Effects, Best Editing and Best Adapted Screenplay.
In his personal life, Blomkamp He is married to the writer Terri Tatchell; they both have a son.
