Produced and directed in 1965 by Stanley Kramer, “The Ship of Fools” is an American production, a romantic drama set in a warlike environment, with a script written by Abby Mann, which was based on a novel by Katherine Anne Porter .

With a cast led by Vivien Leigh, Simone Signoret, José Ferrery Lee Marvin, the feature film won 2 Oscars, among other recognitions.

The action takes place in 1930, in Mexico. There, a German passenger ship sets sail for his country, Bremerhaven.

On the ship there are characters of all kinds, a diverse assortment each of them with their life and their problems, which together make up a true social portrait of the time.
