Janelle left Kody for only two years, but Kody’s second wife did a bit more than she figured she might quit him. She actually left Kody for around two years at one point early in their marriage. Janelle has bought herself a new car and house while talking about divorcing him. Janelle continued her full-time work in Wyoming and earned an accounting degree as she wondered what to do with her polygamous marriage. Finally Kody persuaded Janelle to stay with the rest of the family in Utah and move into a new home. First in a short engagement to Meri’s brother Janelle was committed monogamously. Janelle converted to Kody and Meri’s faith after that relationship ended and they eventually began to appeal. The personalities clashed with Janelle and Meri. The two of them soon butted heads in tandem with romantic jealousy and Meri’s frustration over her infertility. In Becoming Sister Wives Janelle wrote that the factors which led her to consider leaving were a combination of postpartum depression and a particularly nasty fight with Meri. The stress continued for years. Yet Sister Wivesfans has found in the latest season that Janelle and Meri seem much more open to each other and seem to have settled many of their past issues.
