Harrison Ford was almost not in ‘ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker ‘

As fans now know Han appears unexpectedly in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. When Rey (Daisy Ridley) defeats his son Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) she uses the Force to cure him. That act of mercy — along with Leia’s final act of redemption (Carrie Fisher)—pushes Kylo to reborn as Ben Solo. Han appears to his son in a scene in this moment of crisis that mirrors Kylo’s assassination of his father in The Force Awakens. “At J.J. I told me to do that and I said ‘Are you kidding? I just died! ‘ ‘ Yesterday, Ford told USA. “He said ‘Mortal Sorta. You can do this. ‘ At that time, he had t written anything. But he said, ‘ This will be awesome. ‘ So I said perfect. If JJ asked you to do something, you could do it as well. He’s a very convincing man. “What really won Ford over was to figure out how the story could be pushed forward by his presence. After Fisher passed the script was retooled to give Leia an acceptable conclusion. And Ford’s appearance will help to support Ben Solo’s redemption arc. “It was a useful addition to Adam Driver’s character’s story and ongoing development,” Ford said. “And the opportunity to do another scene with Adam was perfect.”

The actor has little interest in the specifics of Han Solo’s return Although most of Ford’s surprise cameo a highlight of The Rise of Skywalker some are just as puzzled as the actor about how Han could emerge from beyond the grave. Since release fans of the film have been pondering whether Han is a ghost of the Force. After all this is the usual sense of re-emerging dead Star Wars characters. But Ford has no experience or interest in the explanation, frankly. “A Ghost of the Force? I don’t know what a ghost of the Force is, “he said. “Ask somebody. I don’t talk for your microphone loud enough. I don’t have a f**king idea of what a Ghost Force is. And I just don’t know! “This arrogant attitude toward the broader mythology of Star Wars is in line with Ford’s views of the saga. While he’s always loved the fans and his fellow actors, Ford doesn’t care about the Star Wars universe’s awesome elements. Ironically this attitude only fuel the strength of his series results. And we would expect nothing less from him. We’re happy he agreed to come back for The Rise of Skywalker ever so briefly.

Harrison Ford very soon returns to another iconic role. Of course Han Solo is not the only character created together by Ford and Lucas. For the fifth time in 2021 Lucas has a story and an executive credit on play Indy. Although the details of the story are scarce, production reported by Ford is set to start in spring 2020. The untitled fifth Indiana Jones movie may wind up being the last time fans see Ford in his other iconic role. But at least for now he gave the closure to Ben Solo — and fans — to Han Solo and his family regardless of whether he was a ghost of the Power or just a memory.
