Love them or hate them movies from Marvel Studios have changed the narrative essence of blockbuster. Suddenly each studio was desperate to get its hands on their own interconnected shared universe. Yet the MCU continues to thrive amid the ill-fated Dark Universe or Warner Bros. ‘ dysfunctional MonsterVerse. Eleven years in Avengers: Endgame has not only become the biggest MCU hit to date, it has also become the largest domestic release ever. Yet with such a pool of characters to choose from how will Marvel determine who should be brought into the MCU? 8/8.244 8/8.244 Figure 1 Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con Alberto E. In the early days of the MCU the logic was pretty clear. Marvel had given his most popular characters the rights off. But Spider-Man was off the table, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four amongst others. And Marvel Studios have set their sights on The Avengers instead. There was an Iron Man movie in production long before Robert Downey Jr. became Tony Stark. And that now-famous scene of post-credits teased the prospect of something else. Began to develop films for Hulk Thor and Captain America with the characters they had left Marvel created. Of course the finely threaded needle brought a trend to life in 2012. Marvel Studios were starting to take risks from that point. MCU’s Phase 2 mixed more obscure titles such as Galaxy Guardians and Ant-Man in with sequels to proven hits. And that strategy eventually expanded to include characters like Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange Black Panther. Marvel has even reached a deal to get Spider-Man into the MCU. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Marvel Studios (@marvelstudios) on Dec 8, 2019 at 3:41pm PST Kevin Feige sheds light behind the scenes of the MCU Seemingly boundless viewer goodwill to benefit from Marvel Studios could do no wrong seemingly. Audiences were willing to accept a conversational tree and a character who associated themselves with insects. So what criteria should Marvel then use to determine what projects should next be produced? Kevin Feige discussed just that in a recent Q A at the New York Film Academy Marvel Studios. While he said the decision-making process would “vary,” Feige has revealed behind the scenes the big-picture thinking involved. “Often you choose the title hero because you re choose the main character or main team that you want to introduce to the screen,” he said. “And often as you re-make and create the film [ asking ] ‘ Who’s going to come in? Who would fit in with it? ” Here’s who Marvel Studios gives us next Now a whole MCU era has been ended. So, the future can be a blank slate in many respects. No doubt heroes such as Captain Marvel Black Panther and Doctor Strange would graduate in lead roles. But Marvel still maintains a concentration on the fresh blood. The next few years will see the celestial Shang-Chi, and the Ten Rings Story a movie Feige said has been in the queue for some time. “We had long wanted to make [ Shang-Chi ]. We want to make a film with an Asian cast of 98 per cent. “he told the Film Academy in New York. “And then, as you create the script, you think about what other heroes you can bring in if you need them? And the greatest thing that happened in the case of Black Panther [ in Captain America: Civil War ]. “We also know that Shang-Chi would (re-)introduce us to the Mandarin. Yet Feige’s comments indicate the movie could also mark some unexpected Marvel characters ‘ big-screen debut too. We wouldn’t expect anything less considering the MCU tradition of falling into surprises.

8/8.248 8/8.248 Salmon burger iStock.com According to cookbook author Mark Bittman who shared this recipe with The New York Times, the right preparation is key to making a delicious salmon burger Fine grinding of the salmon portion makes it easier for the fish to tie together while a coarser grind for the rest stops the patty from drying out. If you put these on the grill don t overcook that should be done for 2 to 3 minutes each side. 1 1?2 pounds of skinless boneless salmon 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard 2 shallots peeled and cut into chunks 1?2 cup of coarse bread crumbs 1 table spoon caps drained 2 table spoon butter or olive oil Lemon wedges Tabasco sauce Directions: Cut the salmon into large chunks and put about a quarter of it in a food processor’s jar along with the mustard. Switch the machine on and let it run until the mixture is pasty “stop scraping down the sides if possible.” Attach the shallots and the remaining salmon and turn the system on and off until the fish is well chopped and the puree is mixed. No piece should be larger than approximately a quarter inch; be careful not to make the mixture too small. 8/8.249 Veggie burger made with mushrooms iStock.com At first glance portabella mushroom caps seem like the best choice for a non-meat burger “just the right shape to place on a bun and meaty enough to fill you up. In fact however, when cooked, portabellas can turn a bit slimy and the overpowering taste of the mushroom is off-putting to some. This Kitchen Whisperer recipe addresses all problems by slicing the mushrooms into smaller bits and combining them with breadcrumbs of black beans and even a little broccoli for a flavourful patty. Ingredients: 2 cups portabella mushrooms cubed and gills removed 2 cups of cooked black beans rinsed and sliced 1?2 cup red onion minced 3 extra-large eggs beaten 1?2 cup plus 2 table spoons panko breadcrumbs 1 table spoon Montreal steak seasoning 1 table spoon Worcestershire sauce 3?4 cup freshly rubbed Parmesan olive oil Directions: Remove 1 cup of bea seasoning 1 table spoon Add the remaining chopped mushrooms 1 cup of Worcestershire onion bean broccoli garlic sauce and steak seasoning. Mix until you have just combined. Attach breadcrumbs for the eggs and panko cheese. Mix to blend. Deposit back. In a large non-stick pan, add 2 table spoons of oil and switch heat to medium. Dampen your hands once the oil shimmers scoop out about 1?2 a cup of the mushroom mixture and form it into a patty. (Add more breadcrumbs if the burger does t stay together). Place the burger in the saucepan and cook for 3 to 5 minutes per side until the color is golden brown and outward a crust forms. Continue with the mushroom mixture remaining. Switch cooked burgers to a bun and garnish with the toppings you want. @MeganE CS More from Culture Cheat Sheet:
