The bigger Netflix got the longer it took to click through all the menus of future content available to watch. While menu designers may have wanted to provide you with more information about a show or film by playing an auto preview for many users, it just makes noise and distracts you from the other choices. Netflix responds to concerns about autoplay

On Thursday February 6 Netflix responded directly to Hollowell’s tweet in a quote tweet with its answer. They gave viewers the choice of how they wanted to access the menus and shared the connection to the options directly. Some people find this attribute helpful. Others not so much. Costumes are not accessible. Some supervillains do exist. We’re trying to do a very different thing.
