Noah March 28
In this film, Russell Crowe plays the title character based on Noah’s biblical story. While Hollywood biblical epics undoubtedly call to mind movies like Cecil B. DeMille’s The Ten Commandments or Henry King’s David and Bathsheba Noah, except for having the same source material, it is unlikely that much will be in common with those movies. Noah is directed by Darren Aronofsky, who directed previously dark introspective films such as The Wrestler and Black Swan. The film also stars as Methuselah, Jennifer Connelly Emma Watson and Anthony Hopkins. Aronofsky wasn t the only American director this year to seek out a Biblical epic. Famed science fiction director Ridley Scott is scheduled to release this December’s version of the Moses tale Exodus.

6 under the Hair. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 May 2
The sequel to the 2012 reboot of the well-worn Spider-Man series brings the webslinger to fight with some new super-villains: Jamie Foxx as Electro Dane DeHaan as Green Goblin and Paul Giamatti as the Rhino. Andrew Garfield takes up his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man when returning as Gwen Stacey to Emma Stone. Like the earlier movie in this series The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is also directed by the aptly named Marc Webb.
In this sequel, the Thai martial arts action star Tony Jaa returns to the Protector. Jaa is taking up his role as Kham the owner of an elephant who goes to extraordinary lengths to retrieve his beloved pet. Unfortunately, Kham’s pet pachyderm has again been stolen by a gang of unwise criminals and Kham must once again use his impressive martial arts skills to recover it. However Kham’s search becomes more complicated when the victim’s twin nieces accuse him for a murder and arrest him. Meanwhile, by using fighters he has recruited into his underground fighting ring, an evil crime lord played by RZA tries to force Kham into doing his bidding. Fans of 2008’s Chocolate will be pleased to know that JeeJa Yanin also appears as one of the nieces seeking vengeance on Kham in this film.
