Facebook Level Up Streaming Program Introduced in 21 CountriesByNitish Singh-31 October 2018.1105 Facebook is continuing its efforts to defuse Twitch with its new Level Up programme. The program aims to help streamers make extra money out of their content. Virtual goods for fans who support their streamers are up for grabs. Twitch is the undisputed King for streamers when it comes to online gaming. With years of no real competition, Facebook is looking with its new Level Up system to move into the scene. The giant of social media now has its presence in 21 countries, and is trying to help streamers communicate on Facebook with the gaming community. Through Facebook Stars, streamers who partner with Facebook will be making extra money. Facebook Stars is analogous to Twitch Bits. It is a form of virtual currency that can be used on any channel on the platform and users can donate to their favorite streamers as many bits as they wish. The Level Up system of Facebook will only provide the Stars feature to partnered users, similar to how Twitch only provides many of its services to Twitch Partners. The past efforts Facebook has made in gaming were less than positive. The giant of social media signed a major deal with Esl One to broadcast a Counter-Strike: a series of Global Offensive competition, but it was not particularly good viewership. Most of the fans blame Facebook for lack of traction due to the supremacy of Twitch. Despite firms like Microsoft and YouTube trying to break into the streaming video game scene for years, the Amazon-owned platform has been on top. To be eligible for the Level Up program users need to create and upload a Gaming Video Creator Page for at least 4 hours on two days prior to requesting a partnership. Users must also have at least 100-page followers and must be accepted for partnership from one of the qualifying countries.
