However in some product models the Samsung still uses the previous Ufs 2.0 chips. The recent report suggests that Samsung is likely to use the Ufs 2.0 chips from Toshiba which are apparently slower than the Ufs 2.1 chips. Ufs 2.1 chips were removed from the official spec page in Galaxy S8 computer. Samsung has not yet issued an official statement claiming that secretly eliminating the Ufs 2.1 storage would help prevent the kind of uproar Huawei saw using two separate P10 memory chips. The company’s already apologized for the P10 memory chip upgrade. Samsung uses two distinct SoCs in its flagship devices each year. The Exynos chipset is used all over the world while Snapdragon is used in the market for Us. The Korean firm is using two different camera lenses on their upcoming smartphones. According to the Xda Developers article, Samsung might use Toshiba’s Ufs 2.0 memory chips in the Galaxy S8 variants powered by the Snapdragon835. While chips from Ufs 2.1 and Ufs 2.0 have a sequential reading speed of around 800 Mb / s and 500 Mb / s, this is not representative of real world results. Right now on the official Samsung specs page you’ll find that it doesn’t mention the Ufs 2.1 memory chip anymore as it did before.
