YouTuber Sues YouTube for Contract Breach and Asks for $720k in DamagesYouTube is sued by a founder and dragged to court for a case without a precedent. The plaintiff argues that YouTube did not do its part in supporting its content, and handled it unfairly. The defendant has submitted several pieces of evidence to support the case and is seeking $720k in compensation for damages. The success bookings view advertising revenue and sponsorship deals due to YouTube’s actions against the founder he’s lost audience subscribers. The case was referred to the U.S. California District Court and it is backed by several exhibits which seek to prove how YouTube went against the creator without violating any of the rules of the platform. As from 2007, the plaintiff was the owner of two channels titled “djshortehot4eva” and “theshorteshow,” according to the specifics of the complaint submitted. The channels were monetized according to the creator guidelines of YouTube and the subscriber followership of 250k users was gradually established which created a total of 110 million views. It won the developer up to March 2016 for a total of $310,000. The plaintiff seeks to convince the court that YouTube behaved unlawfully against him and infringed the terms of the contract, not because he violated any of the rules of the site but because that was their way of responding to the threat of his complaint. Since this is the first time that we see a case of this kind being brought before a U.S. court it will be fascinating to see what the judge can think of it. Hold on listening.
