The tech giant can phase out the Rcs ‘ Talk ‘ and Android Messages app to favor. Chat Hangouts and Meet Hangouts will not be dropped and will continue to be a part of G Package. Hangouts Meet and Hangouts Chat were launched as part of G Suite last year and many had planned to drop the user version of the app. The new Rcs Chat and Android Messages software from Google however will continue to offer messaging functionality. Earlier this year, on May 22, Hangouts ‘ Sms app was disabled but the chat functionality was left intact. Looking by recent reviews of the Hangouts app, it seems that Google hasn’t released bug fixes and performance improvements in quite a while, which adds legitimacy to the reports about the shutdown device. The G Suite versions of the software are similar to Slack, a popular workplace collaboration app. Google Voice Calling was one of Hangouts ‘ standout features, then migrated to its own dedicated app earlier this year. With the mobile messaging model set to become part of carriers like T-Mobile and other major carriers, there may be a long gone need for a dedicated messaging app like Hangouts. Over the years Hangouts did not see any significant growth and the number of active users continued to decline.
