The team is currently working on smart devices such as Portal and the development of augmented reality / virtual reality. Facebook revealed earlier this year that its ‘ Building 8 ‘ team is working on brain-computer interfaces which could allow users to turn their thoughts into text. The social media company, however, seems to want to change its focusBrainGate 2 to some degree, but instead of providing a fully automated communication method for disabled people, it allows users to type on a virtual keyboard instead. Which sounds like a bold move is now taking a backseat with the other Facebook ventures being given more priority. Initially, Building 8 was believed to have been dissolved but the reports were put aside by Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, who is in charge of Facebook’s augmented reality and virtual reality. That would be deceptive. After the launch of this app we renamed the Building 8 team portal. In our research group on Facebook Reality Labs, the work that we initially started in Building 8 continues. Boz (@boztank) December 14, 2018 With a number of security incidents and the inability of Facebook as a whole to combat fake news disinformation and political interference on its site, the social media company’s emphasis on Portal suffered a setback even before the hardware was published. It’s unclear if the visions of Facebook pulling off a Google X would produce real results. Facebook can return to having a brain-computer interface through a system that will be able to “sense” your thoughts and translate them into text. But the company is better off focusing on more realistic ventures like the Us government’s Portal smart displaymilitary grade Ar headsets. Grip.
