Modern flat top
The clean bald fade gives the traditional flat top with straight up bangs a modern twist. It’s an amazing rugged feel. Burr Cut Fade
There are short haircuts for men that never go out of style and one of them is this brush cut (or butch cut).
This French crop has also been referred to as a blunt men’s cut and is an excellent choice for younger-looking guys.
Texture Crop on Short Hair

A haircut capable of portraying a friendly soft snowed avalanche. Keeping the hair short and moving in the same pattern creates a sense of calm and order.
Short Hair Natural Waves
Natural hair waves as if you were running your fingers through it and that’s just how your hair was set. Great contrast between what seems to be unintentional and a classic glamor feeling that is perfect for men with short wavy hair.

Thinning Hair Hard Side
QA with creator Samuel Casillas Barber @ New Era Barbershop at Bullhead City Az How would you describe this look? It is the look of a gentlemen with a modern twist. It’s a very neat and clean haircut anywhere and for any activity you can rock. The shaved sides and the hard part that makes it look fresh are my favorite things about this haircut. The suggestions that someone feels about it? I think this look can be rocked by anyone. Because of the hard part that is cut in, it is simple and easy to comb. I’m using Hairevolution Extra Hold Gel directly. I brush all the hair to the side and just comb the front up to give it some shape at the front. Very easy to keep and to have a very cool haircut. I think all lifestyles and personalities blend in with this haircut. The most important thing about this haircut is the blend shift. The suggestions that someone feels about it? Pay attention to head design specifics of hair growth pattern and hair cleanliness. Those play a major role in grooming as it would have an influence on how the hair lies. Remember not to use too much pomade or gels as the design won’t let the hair look like it’s best with so much material. Lay Rite is a guaranteed winner or Sweet Jamila if you were to use an item. Brushing would be better with this dense and coarse texture to match.
Thin Hair Brushed Up

This is a great example of clean, modern short-man haircuts with clean lines and sharp fading. For people with thin hair, it’s a great example of fashionable fashion. QA with Menco Aleksandr Barber at Moscow Russia’s OldBoy Barbershop How would you describe this look? Thanks to the rigor, I like this style and look! This look depends on the facial features and texture of the person’s hair. So I advise you to apply graase or classic wax to a client with this hairstyle. How would you characterize this look?
Hipster Quiff
With a pumped top and added hard part, this is a high and tight skin fade. To complete most of the fade, the fade is kept high using the head round along the parietal edge. Baby smooth skin with a foil shaver is the shortest size. I like this to suit Tim (@timhutchison) my client. It’s super clean, making it professional. Yet add some edginess to the bald fade and hard part. The suggestions that someone feels about it? The biggest thing to consider is the hard part that has been shaved. That is an undertaking. Will they be in your chair for maintenance at least every two weeks? And if they want to switch types, are they willing to commit to the regrowth or buzz cut? As far as professionalism is concerned, I agree that if there is a quality haircut base and no style or cut is retained, it is too edgy within reason (mohawks mullets etc. are generally out of the picture). For any customer in my chair, the most important thing is suitability. What do they wear and how is their character? With a touch of artistic edge, this cut and style expresses confidence while being fashion forward. To me, that’s Tim’s very brief yet accurate explanation.
Textured plant short hair
The suggestions that someone feels about it? This haircut is definitely one of the most recent trends as it is low-maintenance but sharp and easily appropriate for any. Based on how you want to wear it, items are a big part of pulling this look off. A must alongside some very dry clay for a messy crop volumizing powder. A pomade based on oil will keep it in place all day and night for a more polished look. Quite Short Tall and Close
QA with model Kristen Claire Cosmetology Student @ New Hampshire Empire Beauty Schools in Portsmouth Nh How would you describe this look? The suggestions that someone feels about it? The big part about this look is that no products are required at all. This haircut is quite generic, meaning it would fit most men. As mentioned above, this is a low-maintenance look that makes it perfect for men who don’t want to spend time on their hair or want a cleaner look.
Clean Blended High Fade
A fantastic cut for a sportsman. QA with Michelle Kurdian Senior Hair Artist at the Melbourne Vic Emaya Salon How would you describe this look? This is a fade of clean cut. The nice blended fade I produced using my clippers and cutthroat is my favorite thing about it. Tools are the key to this theme! I like using the Cricket Static-Free Volumizer brush between shampooing and conditioning. Brush your hair while you dry your blow to force your hair to fit in the shape you like. You don’t really need a lot of hair care to get the hair into shape by doing this. More is always more when you add your material (I like using Kevin Murphy Free. Hold)! If you need to, but you can’t take it off, you can always apply more material to your styling. Whether it’s fine thick or medium hair texture, this hairstyle can always be slightly tweaked to suit anybody. Any man who wants a clean yet stylish look should make up this look.

How would you characterize this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? My client’s look that I gave is called a mid-bald fade. I left the fad right under the altar. My favorite part about the fade would be how well from top to bottom it’s blended. What items to recreate this look are you recommending? I will suggest it to be normal without any substance because of how short the style is. However, my client likes to put a little gel in order to give it a spiked look. I prefer any alcohol-free gel that is flake-free. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for?
Low Fade
QA with designer Erik Zaiatz Owner @> Bostonian Barber Shop in Boston Ma This is a tapered neck short design. To recreate this look, what products do you recommend? There is no need for products to replicate this look. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? Many customers prefer the square look in the back. For a longer period of time, the tapered cut looks stronger than a squared back. Short Back and Sides

QA with James Terry Master Barber / Hairstylist @>Terrys Tonsorial in Hilton Head Island Sc How would you characterize this look and what’s your favorite? To recreate this look, what products do you recommend? Half of the work is a good blow dryer. Most of this styling has to do with drying the hair in various ways, particularly around the top cowlick, so it doesn’t stick out. In reality, the product used was an upcoming mine product that I worked on the side. Without any of the harmful chemicals it is a pure matte hairstyling paste. I’m very excited about launching it in the near future! What kind of customer would you recommend this look for? The hair of this client is thick and curls up when it’s longer, so this look is definitely for someone who has too much hair to handle. This client was also looking for something that is easy to style while running around the city, so we agreed that this was his best look. Classic Taper Fade
QA with designer Dalton Barber @> The Art of Men’s Cuts in Bryant Ar How would you characterize this look and what’s your favorite? To recreate this look, what products do you recommend? It takes little to no product to look like this. Most taper fades, even with tapered sideburns and a tapered nape, are low maintenance. However, with longer hair on top like twisted hair hi tops formed longer hair and even straight hair, they can be more flexible. What kind of customer would you recommend this look for? 0D percent 0A I recommend for each user a tapered haircut. Does the sideburns have to taper the skin? Yes, but I do a little taper at all times. For curly hair as well as straight hair, this hair style fits well. The low and even tapered hair works well for people who don’t want to make an effort to look good for their body.
QA with Jerameel Master Barber @ Yandy Blendz Barber Salon in Kissimmee Fl How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? This appearance is a fading skin with a faded beard. I love the clean fade, but the faded beard is my favorite part. I like to see a smooth transition from hair to beard, so I’ve faded the beard to make it look clean.
QA with Jess Herold Master Hairstylist / Session Artist / Colorist @ Jess Herold Chair in Marion Ia How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? This is a longer look and action tapered razor haircut. My favorite thing about this look is that because of the textured length, it’s effortless styling for guys. It shows a man’s tailor-made business side as well as a casual carefree side. What products do you recommend to recreate this look? What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? This is a hairstyle that is very flexible. This works best for customers with a moderate to dense texture of skin. It works on most face shapes, although a rounder face can be elongated because it adds height to the top. This can be a great cut for anyone going out on the city from the business professional to the man.
Medium to Short Shag
Short Side High Volume
Short Side High Volume
This short hairstyle is divided just at the front side by volume. It’s a semi-matte finish that makes it look very natural.
Brushed to the side
Brushed to the side
Another haircut on top is long. Rather than being sliced, this one is brushed to the side with texture.
The top is mounted upwards and backwards and the sides are mounted backwards. This hairstyle will make the face appear narrower and longer. With this look, hair that is mild to rough in texture and medium to high in density is going to style best.
Short Faux Hawk
So what’s a fauxhawk and frohawk mohawk? A hair is cut into a mohawk when the section of the hair that is left long and the sides that are barely there are clearly disconnected. A counterfeit is not a haircut. It’s just a style. When the top is styled to the center, any haircut is styled into a fauxhawk. It’s basically a fake mohawk (faux). A lohawk resembles a mohawk except it transitions gradually and connects with the sides. The shortest and longest distance is not clearly distinguished or separated. A frohawk is a lohawk with a very curly hair texture.
This is a classic volume and texture tapered style. Square face shapes in this hairstyle should look best. Because of the height on top of the head, longer face shapes can appear longer. Because of the thickness on the sides of the head, wider face shapes may look wider. In this style, hair that is moderate to rough for texture and thickness medium to high should look best.
Messy and Short Brush Up
Short Layered Look

Icy Platinum Pixie for Older Women
QA with Brooke Spencer Colorist Style Creator @ Amato Hair Design in Mokena Il How would you describe this look? Any advice that someone thinks about it? This cut also works very well for her as she has an oval face shape and features that are small. She loves this look because different ways of styling are so textured and enjoyable. She wears it effortlessly at times and a more disheveled textured feel at times. To achieve this look on her medium density fine hair, I use 2 different types of textured shears and a feather razor. For this type of texture, this cut is great. Thick and particularly coarse hair can be very difficult to manage and style such a cut.
Platinum Silver

QA with Jeanette Alonso Hairstylist style creator @ Eye ore Salon in Milwaukee Wi How would you describe this look? This look was developed with Schwarzkopf’s Blond Me Bond Enforcing 9 + Lightener and 6 percent Blond Me developer using the full babylight / highlight technique. I shadowed with Schwarzkopf’s Igora Vibrance 7-1 after lightening (also added some low lights with this toner) with lotion developer and toned / glossed with Igora Vibrance 9.5-1 and -11 from Schwarzkopf and gel developer. For many of my icy silver-tone platinum, I love using 0-11. It always gives an extra finish of ash to the look. Any advice that someone thinks about it? As far as cosmetics are concerned, investing in a violet / silver toning shampoo is very important to maintain the blonde’s icy undertone. Other products to consider to keep your hair healthy are Moroccan oil for natural oils repair mask for weekly or bi-weekly treatments to maintain overall hair moisture and elasticity and leave-in conditioner to maintain hair moisture This look is not recommended for anyone who prefers to maintain a low lifestyle of maintenance and does not like going to the salon regularly. Rather, I would recommend a warm or neutral tone balayage.
Bright Platinum Blonde Highlights
QA with Anna Margaret Hairstylist style creator @ May Day Spa-lon in Bellingham Wa How would you describe this look? It’s a bold, sleek, smooth, textured blonde bob. What I like about it is that everything is still very low maintenance because we’ve shadowed her root so it’s going to grow very smoothly. This girl can also pull out those bangs! I love how well it’s combined with her bold, edgy personality. Any advice that someone thinks about it?QA with Nicole Reyns Trichologist fashion in Auckland Nz @ Vivo Hair Beauty How would you describe this look? What I love about this look is the color and how gentle the platinum shade is and how it complements the tone of the skin. This look is a soft blonde platinum champagne with a subtle smudge of root to create a bit of depth and movement. I used a 32 mm curling iron to create a texture so you could see the color movement and I made a blunt cut around her face with soft layers. Any advice that someone thinks about it? Invest in the dry wax of Kms. It is seriously the best product without weighing them down or being sticky for touchable curls. If you want a more lived-in platinum look, this look works best if you don’t have to come in every 4 weeks for a touch. Instead, in every 3 months you can come. How would you characterize this look?
Blonde Cornrows
These are complex cornrows of gold. I love this look as edgy and stylish as it is. The hair color really brings out the elegance of the braids and is perfect when you want to keep the hair away from the face for weekends or occasions. To make the look more complex and fun to wear, I like to play with different braid designs. I made a mix of knotted braids and infinity braids. She also likes to come in for braids, so I like having her hair in one piece. We incorporate pastel shades often, which end up turning back to blonde. Any advice that someone thinks about it? This color definitely requires a lot of care and maintenance, and if not done correctly, it can be harmful to the hair. Usually root touch-ups are done every 4-6 weeks to ensure great results. In the 6th week, I recommend to avoid extreme exposure and remove all the pigment. This color works as long as they wear the right make-up to balance the color for all skin tones. For everyone, these braids are great. They’re fun and easy to wear, showing off the color. I love creating and combining various braids in one look to make it fun and different.
Dimensional Platinum Blonde
Lola Prism How are you going to describe this look and what is your favorite? This is an icy blonde in the dimensions. It is the result of a color correction’s second session, so it’s still a work going on! In order to help create and maintain this look, what items would you recommend? I love Schwarzkopf’s Igora color line and recommend Fanola No Yellow Shampoo to keep the icy effect. What kind of person would work best for this look?QA with Lj Sharman Hairstylist style creator @ Headlines The Salon in San Diego Ca How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? This is a dark-rooted, dimensional icy blonde. While still looking natural, I love how bright it is. It’s great for the girl who wants to be gold, but doesn’t want the commitment of having to go to the salon for maintenance every three weeks. Which skin tones and s will help eliminate this combination of color / style? What’s your best tip to recreate / maintain this look? The most important thing to remember is that it takes time to do this process. You’ve got to be patient! You must also understand that the hair health is compromised by the lightening process the more we need to lighten. It’s really like sunburning your hair. It’s crucial how you look after your hair after this color process. I suggest that you sleep with a hair mask once a week. Using Oribe Gold Lust Mask and Olaplex bond multipliers are great ways to keep your hair bright and healthy. Your hair is your most precious possession, so don’t think about investing in it! Maureen Mceachern> Maureen Mceachern Hairstylist Owner of Westward Hair Affair in Manitoba Canada How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? I’d describe this look as an icy blonde living in it. The blonde on the bottom is strong and slowly fades into the root zone, giving her a cool shadow root for a really lived-in look. This look is perfect for someone who wants to see a lot of blonde but doesn’t want heavily highlighted hair maintenance or an all-over color. What items are you going to recommend for this look? I would recommend for volume Unite Boosta spray for styling. It’s perfect as it’s not too heavy for fine hair like her. Before using curling iron, a heat protector like Brocato’s 7 seconds is a must and Unite U-Oil will help to add brightness and smooth frost. Which skin tones and s will help eliminate this combination of color / style? Cool toned skin (i.e. skin with a pink or blue undertone) is the best skin tone to pull off this light and ashy shade of platinum. They were usually very pale blonde as kids or ashy is their natural hair color. What’s your best tip to recreate / maintain this look? The customer should tell the stylist when requesting this color that they want to see lots of pale blonde ash but want less in the root area (a shadow root). To require fewer root touch-ups, they want the grow out to be nice and natural looking. This color does not require as much maintenance as a full head color, but requires a refresh of the toner. I tell all my customers that moisture moisture moisture is first and foremost! It’s best to use a vent brush like a Sassoon or a Denman to get this sleek style.
Pearly Platinum Blonde
Jen Ferguson How are you going to describe this look and what is your favorite? This look is a blonde with pearly platinum. I love the blonde white, but not the white icy. It’s white with the perfect color glimmer in the sun. For this look, what products would you recommend? Once a week I would consider using a violet shampoo to keep the hair shiny and pearl. I love Kà © rastase Thà © rapiste shampoo and conditioner to preserve moisture and strength Kà © rastase Masque ThÃérapiste once a week for an extreme dose of moisture and strength and Ciment Thermique Serum Thà © rapiste and Touch Perfection (all by Kà © rastase) to fix the hair as you style it. If you need something for soft curls like this with a little hold then I would recommend Kà © rastase’s Mousse Bouffant or Bumble Bumble’s Surf Foam Spray. Which skin tones and s can best remove this combo of color / style? What’s your best tip to recreate / maintain this look? My biggest tip to recreate this look is that the race wins slowly and steadily. If you want white or platinum, if you want any hair left by the time you’re done, it will take multiple salon visits. Be patient between visits and take care of your hair. In order to maintain this look, I recommend investing in high-quality professional line of products designed for highly chemically processed hair as well as regular professional deep treatments in a salon to avoid dry and brittle skin. Last but not least, remember to always get your products from a trade show to make sure they’re real!
Long Relaxed Platinum Blonde

Tom Smith

> Tom Smith Color Head @ Billi Currie in London Uk How would you describe this look and your favorite? It’s relaxed and finished this feel. I love the way the styling fluidity compliments the pure blonde Scandinavian base. I used lighter products but still left the hair polished and smooth. You don’t want to weigh down the movement promoted by the shape or styling of the channel-cut. I enjoy finishing with a vivid spray for softness and luminosity. I used Oribe Royal Blowout for this style to protect and smooth heat and finish with Oribe Shine. Which skin tones and s can best remove this combo of color / style? For this style, regular to slightly thicker hair works best as the form has channels of layers cut from the inside, but none on the top layer. It adds tons of flexibility to thick hair, but it could take out too much bulk on fine hair. The skin must be strong in order to lighten the hair to this degree. A cooler skin tone for a Scandinavian blonde is a great match. If the color of the skin was lighter and pinker, I would change the hair for a similar look to be less glossy and cold.QA with Melissa Kayelle Hairstylist Style Creator @ The Atwater Parlour in Los Angeles Ca How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? This is an icy pixie of platinum. So many tones can fall into the category of platinum, but this one is my favorite. I think this one’s ice whiteness works as more of a positive that’s what I love about it. I love good women’s short haircuts as well. They are edgy, but they can also be soft. It’s also the most liberating of haircuts as a lady who has worn a pixie in the past. It gives you a style that really allows you to say I have awakened like this. Simultaneously, if a pixie is cut appropriately, you leave enough room to play with if your day needs a little more shaping or softening. The choice of the product would vary depending on the texture of the hair of the person and the look they want on that particular day. First of all, I would always recommend a high-quality, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. In this case, protein-based products will help reconstruct the damage and strengthen the cuticula of the hair. I love the Repair. Me line from Kevin Murphy for this. It is a state-of – the-art pea protein that is not building up in the hair. It helps rebuild without over-proteinizing, which is a must for healthy blond preservation. It is really helpful to rotate in or combine a toning shampoo or conditioner (also known as purple or violet shampoos) together with your protein moisture system when dealing with a platinum shade. There are quite a few brands making outstanding ones. The name of Kevin Murphy is Blonde. Angel. His treatment or conditioner is by far my preference. There are also some great Paul Mitchell Watercolors and Ms. Clairol Shimmer Lights. Ask your stylist what they’d recommend for your specific tone. This particular client has very fine hair as far as further styling is concerned. I used Kevin Murphy’s Powder. Puff, which is a volumizing powder that you apply to dry hair, to achieve this look. It creates an amazing volume when agitated that lifts at the root and gives amazing texture without buildup of sticky product. Other companies also make this type of material. There are some solid ones for Big Sexy Hair Schwarzkopf Label M and even American Crew. My personal favorites are Kevin Murphy and American Crew. Then with Mitch Stone Session Spray, I finished her look. Another of my favourites! Which skin tones and s can best remove this combo of color / style? Most of us can pull off this sound! My only exception would be if you had a lot of pink skin pigmentation. It becomes a neutral because this tone of platinum ranges between a cold tone and a hot tone. And because it will be significantly lighter than most skin tones, a beautiful contrast will usually be created. The trick is to make it really white. Please consult your stylist about this and at hime ladies and gents please don’t try this. It is not an easy tone to achieve and this may quite possibly be out of reach in cases where previously manufactured color exists. Before starting this journey, a serious conversation with your stylist is needed. My most important tip to keep this look is to make sure you’re ready to see more of your stylist in your life than most other people. Ha! Ha! Ha! It means agreeing to see your stylist every three (definitely no more than four) weeks to keep this look on the spot. To maintain this perfect platinum, it is very important to stay consistent with your root touch ups. Don’t be afraid to take pictures with you when you go to see your favorite stylist. Go and find pictures that you love. People’s eyes can perceive color differently and we tend to describe it differently in all kinds of ways. Platinum could be this white color for someone else, it could be far more ashy or even blue, which doesn’t create the same neutral color that looks good on most of them. Don’t be careful that you don’t offend anyone. Make sure you’re always on the same page before you even start. Just make sure to let your stylist know your plans before you book your appointment. For this great consultation, you may need to arrange a teeny bit more time in your appointment. I would hope to go in with an open mind as well. If this is your path, make sure it’s a journey that you learn. You may need to go through a few blonde stages before you get to your ideal look, particularly if your hair is long or colored in the past. Go in with a clear mind, but with a clear idea! That would be my greatest idea to get you to the perfect look of platinum.
Warm Short Platinum
QA with> Jevonne Hairstylist @ Jevonne’s Hair in Los Angeles Ca How do you describe this look and what’s your favorite? This is an asymmetric platinum blonde bob. Asymmetric bobs are my all-time favorite style to create because they are the best of both worlds short on the nape and gradual front length. Let’s not forget the layers that give it body and movement! For this look, what items do you recommend? Which skin tones and s can best remove this combo of color / style? I honestly believe that any skin tone from the fairest to the darkest can compliment this color contrast. There are no color limitations. The bob elongates the neckline so that it can look like a runway model for the shortest customer. When recreating / maintaining this color / style, what is your best tip? When recreating this style, keep in mind that the hair of your client should be at least shoulder length and sufficiently full to offer movement, especially on the sides and front. For a great bob, this is very crucial. It is very important to maintain the color deep conditioning and I always recommend hydration treatments in order to improve the process of conditioning. A great tip to prevent the platinum from becoming brassy over time is a shampoo and conditioner based on purple. It’s also a hair wrap that I recommend. It works great for the next day while you sleep to keep your hair straight and flowing. The water-melt near the top is my favorite thing about this platinum paint. The way the hair blends from its dark base to the ends of platinum is very difficult to achieve, but as you can see, it really draws your eye to see the dark base pop with its hand-painted highlights without any harsh lines or spots. Which products are you going to recommend for this look? I recommend Oribe and R+Co 100 percent! Such luxury goods are reliable and affordable. Which skin tones and s can best remove this combo of color / style? Due to the inherent pigments in the hair of a particular person, it is difficult to identify a specific type of skin with platinum blonde shades. Usually it is best pulled off by olive or pinker complexions. When recreating / maintaining this color / style, what is your best tip? Training training is so critical for stylists. Not everyone can look like that, and it’s important to explain to consumers that it’s a process that can take more than one appointment. We are not magicians and we are concerned about the hair’s integrity. In your color mixes, I also recommend using Brazilian b3 Bondbuilder. Maintenance can be a little more minimal for customers to keep their natural root color. Try the Bright Blonde product line from Oribe to keep this color. You’re always going to want to see your stylist to refresh your toner for constant mixing and creativity!
Blonde Wavy Bob Babylights
QA With> Whitney Bremer Lafrenz Hairstylist @ Luverne Mn Salon 75 How would you describe this look and what is your favorite? This is a gold with low maintenance. I know it may sound crazy to someone who’s been platinum! For several years, this woman had been a very light blonde, but was tired of the constant need for maintenance. While holding her bright platinum blonde, we decided to add a shadow to her root zone. He enjoys being able to spread her time between appointments and doesn’t have that feeling anymore ‘ wow I need my roots done! Which skin tones and s can best remove this combo of color / style? Before blowing drying, I styled this look with Big Sexy Full Bloom volumizer spray-in throughout. Then I sprayed Style Sexy 450 ° Protect with a 1-inch iron before curling. With Kenra Dry Texture Spray, we finished off the look to add some texture and separation to her curls! What’s your best tip about this color / style recreating / maintaining? This style also looks great straightened because the color is blended very naturally, which is how she usually wears it. In about seven to eight weeks she will return to retouch any places that need to be lightened and conduct a toning service to keep her platinum-looking shine. Her maintenance at home includes bi-weekly use of Matrix SoSilver shampoo.

Which skin tones and s can best remove this combo of color / style? I think anybody can really pull off this mix of platinum color and style. You can convert any to fit and stream flawlessly with the right products and equipment! What’s your best tip about this color / style recreating / maintaining? I still hit the base lightener for my Kenra blue-violet and my Framar brushes when doing a beach scan! The Bio Ionic Stylewinder is perfect for allled waves as for styling. It’s so easy to use that even our customers can perfectly recreate this look at home! Ashy Platinum Balayage
Astacia Christenson QA with Style Creator Astacia Christenson Hairstylist and Bend Or ashy platinum balayage. I love to go against the rules and mix with cool tones. It has a contrast and dimension, but it still has a fluid hand painted look. For this look, what products would you recommend? To maintain ashy highlights, I recommend Fanola No Yellow Shampoo and Olaplex 3 to keep healthy hair between appointments. What skin tones and s will help eliminate this combination of color / style? I think the skin tone and hair color rules are changing. This particular customer is pretty bronze so I chose not to go all ashy or all beige. It’s just what you think you can pull off. If you’re own it shouldn’t matter your skin tone. When I scan a client like this, my favorite tip is to do some baby lights foiled around the hairline and then paint the baby’s hair over the foils at the end to get a seamless, bright hairline. Maintenance is about the right products (see above) and less often washing with cooler water. This client comes to get touched and toned around the face every six weeks on a regular basis.
A-Line Bob Dark Platinum
Which skin tones and s will help eliminate this combination of color / style? This look can be rocked by all skin tones because the color has warm and cool tones. When recreating / maintaining this color / style, what is your best tip? The best tip would be to use the natural base color and scan the mid shafts heavily and then tip any ends left out of the foils
Theresa T QA with> Theresa T Hair Guru at the Edmonton Exhale Hair Boutique Ab How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? For prolong the time between toners and touch-ups, I suggest a purple shampoo. I’ve been using the Schwartzkopf Freeze. To keep the ends soft and healthy, I would also recommend a repairing conditioner. Within Biolage Repair is a personal favorite. Which skin tones and s will help eliminate this combination of color / style? I would recommend that you have a natural blue / purple undertone in your skin for this look otherwise it might look too brash or unnatural next to a very olive or yellow undertone. To the extent that the style can be pulled off by anyone with a mid-length haircut these soft effortless curls. They give the movement of the hair while keeping the length. What’s your best tip about this color / style recreating / maintaining? To create this look, I used a soft weave scanning technique. Work one inch from the scalp to preserve the natural root (unless it has gray hair) and tone with a no ammonia toner that is bright. To preserve come to the salon for regular tones every six to eight weeks and use a violet shampoo. Use a 1-inch barrel curling iron for the curls and leave the ends out one to two inches. Curl the entire head away from the face and spray with the performance mist of Alterna.
Victoria Hebb QA with> Victoria Hebb Hairstylist @ Bourne Ma Salon Belor How would you describe this look and your favorite thing about it? I recommend using Redken’s Iron Shape Thermal Spray to protect your hair from heat damage, as well as Pureology’s Shine Max to make it look flawless and smooth. I used a 1/2-inch curling wand as far as shaping goes and rotated back and forth to get that simple beachy wave. I finished off the look with the Strengthening Control Hairspray from Pureology to give it a light grip. Which skin tones and s will help eliminate this combination of color / style? For the best results, I would recommend this color / style for customers with cool tones. It can really wash out a customer because of its extreme icy tone. The hairstyle is a story that is easier. This customer has endless amounts of hair and enjoys the severe blunt cut to make it look even more Western. This might also be a good look for fine hair clients as it might give the illusion of thicker hair as it’s all one length. My client has very cool eyes with fair skin and strong facial characteristics that compliment this cut very well! When recreating / maintaining this color / style, what is your best tip? Pay attention to your body! Lightening can cause your hair a lot of damage if it is not properly maintained. Which means sulfate-free shampoos with thermal protectants, etc. Using a purple shampoo a few times a week for an icy color like this will make a huge difference! It’s an icy balay. My favorite thing about a scan is that it has a very sunkissed effect. It’s a low-maintenance beauty style as opposed to a white blonde all over that would need to be changed every four weeks. What items are you going to recommend for this look? I’d recommend products from Davines across the board! It is always important to maintain the dignity of the hair while going through the stages to get to the perfect blonde. Once you blow dry, you can use Davines ‘ Nourishing Enzyme Spray to keep your blonde safe as it reconstructs the strand from inside out. The Silver Alchemic shampoo and conditioner from Davines is what prevents the skin from turning yellow. The violet counteracts any tones of golden / brassy. The textured beach wave is absolutely in the style. Using Davines ‘ Dry Texturizer, without the grittyness of a sea salt mist, you will achieve an undone and allled feel. Can skin tones and s will help eliminate this combination of color / style? What’s your best tip about this color / style recreating / maintaining? It’s going to be a process to recreate this look depending on the background of your body. Embrace the intermediate stages and have a stylist that you can trust not to drive your hair beyond its limits.
Surfer Ashy Blonde
QA with Rachel Saxon Colorist Style Creator @ Amaz Hair in Atx How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? I’m calling it surfer chic. It is bright and blonde without being over-processed, and on the undone texture the cut is heavy. My favorite thing about this look is that without sacrificing style, you can go longer between touch-ups. This is also the type of cut that is going to work naturally or in style. For this look, what products would you recommend? Rene Furterer I’m obsessed with. They are a French company and all their products are organic in the pharmaceutical and natural grade of 90-100 percent. With this look, I began adding a volume base at the roots with the Volumea Mousse. I then used their Frizz control Control Emulsion Styling Cream. My favorite product is the finishing touch the Vegetal Texture Spray Which skin tones and s can best pull this combo of color / style? What’s your best tip about this color / style recreating / maintaining? I always send the Okara Silver Shampoo home to all my clients to use twice a week. You should come for trims every eight weeks for the best results and for touch-ups and toning every 12 weeks.
Icy Blonde Pixie for Older Women
QA with Mikel Ramos Stylist style creator @ Raven Row Salon in Austin Tx How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? This is a fun, icy-colored pixie textured. I love the combination of color and slice. For this look, what products would you recommend? Badlands R+Co! Kat Carpenter Hairstylist @ Philadelphia Lather Hair Studio Pa How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? My client came in searching for silvery Elsa hair and I’m really happy with our ice queen look. She came in with about three inches of replenishment so it definitely was a color correction project but afterwards her hair felt great! For this look, what products would you recommend? I used Alterna’s Anti-Breakage Thermal Protectant for heat safety and Evo’s Easy Tiger for smooth blowout styling of her hair. To protect your hair investment, take home products are important! Which skin tones and s can best remove this combo of color / style? I think everybody has a silver shade! Usually cooler-tone skin compliments extremely cool-tone hair but it all depends on the aesthetic and lifestyle of the client. Confidence is key to pulling off the look. What’s your best tip about this color / style recreating / maintaining? Prepare for a dedication to resources and energy! Ideally double blond processes should get a retouch every four to six weeks in order to avoid banding and breaking, but it may take multiple sessions to get this light first. Choose a stylist who you trust to add joy to your image and be open to the process if your ideal hair can not be accomplished in a day. Most especially at school, don’t try this!! Dark to Light Platinum Ombre
Use a box dye or go straight to the pros to get this look. Every way to choose such a simple color combination can be mellowed out by using the shadow to mix it up.
/ QA with> Kimberly Torres Hairstylist @ Kut Haus in Covina Ca How do you describe this look and what is your favorite? This is an ice blonde smoky blue shadow core. I like this look in particular because it gives the blonde she has a dimension. Divtionally, because if she grew her natural hair color, it could become less maintenance, it would blend in much easier. As a nurse, I strongly recommend the use of items of salon value, whether for grooming or washing. I used Schwarzkopf Professional’s leave-in conditioner for moisture, and I also used a serum specifically for color-treated hair and a heat-protector before ironing flat. I used items that would help prevent drying, add moisture and prevent heat damage when her hair was being fixed. Which skin tones and s can best remove this combo of color / style? To be honest, I feel that if you wear make-up, you can wear a lot of different types of skin tones. Sometimes being this light can make somebody look a little washed out, but you’ll be fine if you compensate with some blush and bronzer! This may not be ideal for someone with lots of hair, so far as it goes. This is a haircut of one length and may not sit well. Or if you’re a stylist, this might not be a good idea for you as well. When recreating / maintaining this color / style, what is your best tip?
A slight volume looks better than a sleek one for women of age. This asymmetric chin-length cut is a beautiful example of this.
Gray Feathered Layers

Featuring a really adorable cut that removes ages from your appearance! Going past the chin with a length not to mention the cute side-swept bangs complement her round face by making it look longer.
Playful Stacked Bob
Amp up one of the most common and iconic short haircuts for a textured and detailed result by painting some natural highlights on it. Styling doesn’t need any effort and it’s super easy to maintain.

QA with Taylor Hanrahan Hairstylist Chemical Specialist at the Covington Ky Greenline Salon How would you describe this look? All Aveda products are the ones we use in her hair. These products include a mousse when drying a tonic texture and a defining whip once blown dry. I think the most important product is the defining whip that allows her to play throughout the day with her hair. So a client’s lifestyle with this haircut is active (because it’s so easy to style) edgy (play with it! Wear some unique earrings and draw attention to your style!) and trendy (it’s fun and you can make it your own). Ca How would you describe this look?
Long Blonde Bob
QA with fashion designer Marisa Ramirez Freelance Hairstylist in Los Angeles This haircut is a modern shag take on. My favorite thing about this haircut is how versatile it is. Any recommendations for someone to consider it? For Missy Reeves, an actress with whom I work, this cut and style was created. We needed something on the screen that would be flexible and quick to wear in her off time as well. I’ve chosen to go with a modern shag that leaves the layers around her face a little longer so we can style it from the middle to the side and even in a messy pony from her face. She rarely styles her hair on her off-time. With this cut, for a more free beachy look, she can add a little curl cream and air clean. We began using the Perfect Hair Day and Nourishing Oil from roots to ends to smooth the hair with a blow out. Mohawk section blow all clean smoothly under the mohawk. In diagonal sections, blow the mohawk dry forward towards part. We created beach waves for the ironwork alternating wave direction. Back away from the face, curl front bits. Before curling, spray each section with Restore Instant Protection from Living Proof. Finish with Oribe Airstyle with R+Co’s Mannequin Styling Paste to create a little smooth texture and definition.
Grey Pepper Bob

QA with style creator Ashleigh Gottlieb Glass Stylist @ North Bethesda Md Progressions Salon Spa Store How would you describe this look? This look is very flexible and can match almost any shape of the head. My favorite thing about this look is that it’s going to be in style forever. I wanted to see this look at the Oscars on a lot of celebrities. Any advice that someone thinks about it? This cut is classic, so anyone who wants it can be on the trend and have it. You can keep it clean and polished when styling this look or build texture for some fun.
Face-framing Fine Hair layers
Long Waves Blonde Hair
QA Style Creator Heather Marie DeYoung Owner / Stylist @ Forever DeYoung in Edina Mn This look is a soft blonde buttery. The best thing about this look is how the light hits the brighter blond not only to bring out their beautiful features, but also to create great movement as it displays the classic long-layer haircut. Any advice that someone thinks about it? This style is great for those looking to represent their lifestyle in a more natural low-maintenance color. My client is very active here and spends the winter season in the south. She wanted a youthful look, but suitable for age, and something that grew well. With that in mind, along with adding some soft layers to frame her face, I keep it light in the front. She can pull it back while playing pickleball and then easily style it out on the city for a night out with either some hot rollers or a curling iron!
Cool Rounded Bob

QA Creator Style Stephanie Siclari Hair Designer Owner @ SaSa Salon in Trumbull Ct How would you describe this look? I love it because it’s sleek and edgy. It is an undercut from recession to just below the head round with an asymmetric micro fringe all tied together into a classic bob. The strong lines emphasize her bone structure, attracting attention to all of her best features. I love color marriage and cut it in this look because it’s soft and strong. The suggestions that someone feels about it?
Elegant Wavy Bob
QA with style designer Laura Jarrell Professional Colorist @ Regis Salon in Barboursville Wv I think this look is fun and comfortable! It’s a haircut that in any style can be worn. It can be long, subtle, short, dramatic, and all in between. This inverted bob can look incredibly straight or in the tightest curl! I think it’s wavy, my favorite style. My favorite part of this look is this hue! To embrace the gray is great for any woman and get an old color to blend beautifully with the new gray growing in. Although growing out old color can be a long process, it can still be beautiful and add new styles to your hair travel. The color displayed in this picture is ombrated. It’s perfect for people who don’t like a lot of maintenance. After applying the blonde, you can let your natural roots pass through until all the old color is out or wait for the blonde to be feathered back up. My client (who happens to be my mother) is trying to get out all her old colors and embrace all her natural gray soon. She hasn’t got to go much longer! The suggestions that someone feels about it? I think an inverted bob can be pulled off by anyone. But if you have a rounder face, I would suggest that you keep the length in the front somewhere past the chin so that it stretches your face. You can go as short as you like to the back! That’s the beauty of an inverted bob, with as few or as many layers and any length it can look amazing! I think a good volume is the foundation of any bob. It can do wonders as long as you’ve got a good mousse or root pump. If you can use a round brush while you dry your hair, it will give the best volume and bounce you’re looking for to your roots and body of your hair. If you want to achieve the curled feel, I used a 3/4? Curling iron with a technique where I curl from root to end but keep the ends straight about an inch. I keep them straight so you can take your fingers and comb the curls to leave you with beachy waves when you’re finished. You can spray some texture spray to break the curls and give it that perfectly messy look after you’re finished with the waves and you want to add something special. If you want the look to last the whole day, then give it a little hairspray and you’re out of the house! How are you going to describe this look? Judy is an owner of a business and he travels a lot. She asked me to create something that would make her feel free and young. She doesn’t want to dictate how she looks to her professional job. Under her blonde balayage, I created a softer blushed peekaboo. Judy’s haircut is a nice collarbone length with some weightless layers styled with Aveda Pure abundance style preparation that adds volume and protects against heat styling as well. As a root lifter, Aveda volumizing tonic was used. Any advice that someone thinks about it? With only a blow dryer and a round brush, this haircut is the best style and finished with Aveda’s air control hairspray. Every time they sit in my chair, I encourage all my guests to try something new. Age is just a number and they can rock anything they want with confidence!
QA with Katie-Rose Kelly Senior Stylist @ Diamond Hair Studio in Chorley Lancashire Uk How would you describe this look and what is your favorite? This look is a bob with a short texture. My favorite thing about this is that it’s so easy! It’s such a style of getting-and-going. You don’t have to do a lot to make it look great. Neal and Wolf Form Pliable Paste were the material I used here. It’s not too heavy a soft wax. For styles like this where you want texture without weighing down finer hair, it’s just right. What kind of person would work best for this look? It works on anyone in this fashion! It’s a complete winner from consumers with finer hair who want length and structure to customers with thicker hair who want to take weight out of it and reduce their drying time. It’s great for women of all ages who just want to get up and go in the morning and don’t want to spend a lot of time on their hair styling. What’s your best tip for someone looking at this look? My best tip is to get the right hair products for someone considering this look and don’t try too hard! It’s all about being effortless in this look. It shouldn’t look perfectly smooth. Let your cut do the job and follow the rest. Fun A-Line Bob with Layers
QA with Jessica Carter Style Creator Hairstylist Assistant How would you characterize this look and what’s your favorite? My favorite thing about it is that I could actually see a change in my model’s confidence. She’s been glowing! After years, she had the same hairstyle, and that was the fresh change she wanted. She loved it absolutely and my favorite part of every design makes my customers feel amazing. In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? I’d recommend using a lightweight styling foam to help create and maintain this look. Giving that beach waved undone look, which is very popular right now, works great. We used Aveda Phomollient for that type. It works best in dried hair toweling. Emulsify the product in your hands and apply it as usual throughout and in style. To give it a cool textured feel, dry the hair with your hands while blowing. If you like some volume over aim the hair forward in the crown region and blow dry from root to end. Let the hair cool and then flip it gently back to give you the great volume and shape. What kind of person would work best for this look?QA with Brittany Glaze style creator Senior Stylist and Color Specialist @ East of Eden Salon and Rejuvenation Studio in Benton Ar How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? This is a piece of pixie cut with lateral texture and back hairline. In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? For shine, I recommend Matrix Oil Wonder Oil and Matrix Surface Builder Spray for moving surface. Start off for a strong hold that doesn’t feel cemented down with Matrix Vavoom Freeze Spray This hairstyle is one that I’d like to call a chameleon. It can really flatter any face shape and any hair texture with slight changes in bang length and texture in sideburns and crown length and texture. This cut is for the lady with a bit of sass who still wants to feel and look classy! It takes a minimal amount of styling time. It’s a great style and practicality balance. What’s your best tip for someone looking at this look? If you want to cut it, it is best to show photos of your stylist. Even if you come with a sideburn picture, a neckline picture and a bang length picture that still works! All the details that make this cut specific to your desired look are the great thing. I love when customers take photos as a stylist. My tapered neckline can vary from your perception.
Retro 90’s Shag

QA with Jenn Waterman Redken Artist @ Cut Salon Blowout Bar in Amarillo Tx How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? This look is a modern look at the cute blonde shag of the 90s by Meg Ryan. I shortened the nape and sides so the top could lie over and give a textured and edgy look. In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? What kind of person would work best for this look? This client is fun and has a bubbly personality, and that is reflected in this look I think. Depending on her mood, she can create different styles and achieve whatever look she wants for that day. On so many face shapes this cut can be flattering, but this particular client has a heart-shaped face. If you play by the rules, she’s a candidate, but personality can make that style work for any face. What’s your best tip for someone looking at this look? Don’t worry about trying something new! Hair grows back so if you feel confident working with a stylist whom you trust will give you the look that you want to achieve.
QA with Caitlin Tenney Co-owner Style Creator @ PrimPearl Hair Studio in Boulder Co. How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? This is a long pixie asymmetric and textured. The fringe is my absolute favorite!Bob
Amazing Angled Bob
Keep it look chic with dark ashy blonde roots that exquisite the whole lighter blonde scanned neck-length hair.
This short hairstyle is ideal for curly hair women. The length and texture, while adding volume, keep the curls tamed. Just like the flowers start blossoming gray hairs here and there will start popping out.
Custom Pixie

QA with Courtney Bond Hairstylist style maker @ Xcentric Hair Studio in Waterloo Ontario Canada How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? This is a custom pixie with length to maintain a feminine style throughout the top and front. To accentuate the head shape and bone structure of the client, the sides and back are cut very short and textured. How flexible it is is is my favorite thing about this slice. Sometimes my client puts a braid in the front or she can direct various ways of achieving different looks in her length. In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? What kind of person would work best for this look? For someone with straight or wavy hair, this particular pixie is the safest and easiest. It will work on curly hair, but a lot of styling effort would be needed, of course. Because a pixie cut leaves little hair behind consumers who ask for pixie cuts, they often have faith that they want a look that is very low in maintenance or even just want a fun edgy cut. Any face shape can wear a pixie cut like this, but the length and angles in the front can be adjusted to match longer faces with rounder faces etc. I would advise you not to cut a pixie on a whim. For a while, think about it and collect pictures of inspiration to show your hairstylist. You could also look for a hairstylist specializing in short haircuts and pixies to make sure you get a custom pixie that’s right for you. 2017 seems to be the year of the pixie cut, so if you’ve been talking about it, this year it will certainly be a theme!
QA with designer style Elaine Giering Senior Stylist in Allentown Pa How would you characterize this look and what is your favorite? This is a layered bob with a pixie. I love it’s a perfect way to wear a growing pixie cut that doesn’t have to be afraid of the growing process. I like it’s fun and sexy, but it’s still conservative.
Cute Short Cut
Show the sexy silver fox with natural gray hair that shows how you embrace the beauty that comes with age. Versatility
QA with Ellen Powell Hairstylist style creator @ Salon Bella Vi in Plymouth Mi How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? I used all the products of Kevin Murphy on her that I really love. I washed for volume with Km Angel Wash and Rinse and then blew her dry with Km Body Builder for even greater volume and hold. I styled her for texture with Km Gritty Business and Km Shimmer Shine for added shine after running a small curling iron through her straight hair. I finished her off for a stable hold with Km Session Spray. What kind of person would work best for this look? For everyone, this style isn’t. It’s not for you if you can’t commit to styling your hair each day. Forget that on a bad hair day you need to style your hair every day, you should put your hair in a ponytail. The great thing about this cut is that it can work for most people with a little customization. For ladies who love their hair off their neck, it is perfect. You can style this look in many ways textured like in the picture straight and swept across the brushed back face (think spiky) or pressed forward on the neck. It’s a lot more versatile than you think! If you’re talking about this look, you’re actually spending time thinking about what you like about this style and how much time you’re willing to spend. It’s a big change now if you’re dealing with long hair. Wait four weeks to get a haircut. Also, if you color your hair, you may feel that you need to do it more often as the new growth becomes more apparent.
Long Bob
@dk hair What’s your favorite thing about this look and what’s your favorite? I’d describe this look as a long, minimal-layered box bob with a textured perimeter. The versatility of this style is my absolute favorite thing. Curly or straight it can be worn and looks great on almost anyone! In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? I used Bumble and Blow Dry Straight for smoothness shine and thermal protection to create this look. Thermal protection is one of the most important styling products that should be used for any heat styling (blow dry curling iron flat iron, etc.) until your next cut. I used Bumble and bumble Surf Infusion Spray for a final material. This is a spray of salt water combined with an oil. The salt is perfect for texture and separation, and the oil is good for luster and illumination. What kind of person would work best for this look?QA with Melanie Medeiros Hair / Makeup Artist design designer How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite about it? This look is a long pixie cut that is updated and edgy. I love the color that was created to improve the shape and texture of the cut. In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? It really depends on the texture of the skin, but any formula based on pomade wax or cream will work. My go is to Kevin. Murphy Antigravity for fine hair and finish with Kevin. Murphy Free Hold creamy-based product. I would use a cream-based product for controls such as Kevin. Murphy Easy Rider for smoother textures. The type of person that would rock this look would be someone with a sass and a personality that only screams trust. I always have a face shape and hair texture factor in personality. What’s your best tip for someone looking at this look? Just go for it if the personality fits! Your look is definitely going to be complete.
This beautiful hairstyle with natural highlights and soft layering looks so glamorous in every angle. Complete this lovely shoulder-length mane with cute bangs.
Curtain Bangs
QA with> Liz Farnsworth Hairstylist @ Landis Lifestyle Salon in Salt Lake City Ut How do you explain this look and what is your favorite? It’s a modern look of Farrah Fawcett. To women with and with each eye, it’s literally perfect. Curtain bangs are great at the moment, and I think women should have them at all ages! In order to help create and maintain this look, which items would you recommend? I recommend Pure Abundance Style Prep as I work for Aveda. This adds a lot of grip and offers some strength and texture to the silky smooth straight hair. A spray on the beach will serve as a substitution. What kind of person would work best for this look? Honestly, this haircut is so beautiful that it works for everyone in their 50’s and especially for women. The bangs can be customized to make them as short or as long as you want. If you want to work out, keep them around your head for longer to have a choice for ponytails. What’s your best tip for someone looking at this look? I’m asking you to go! It’s so fun to rock this look and feel really stylish without coloring. If you feel bored with your style, it’s the perfect look.
Styling and maintaining this look is pretty simple. A shampoo like Ag Sterling Silver is going to help keep the blonde strong. A blowdry lotion or spray such as My Amazing Blowdry Secret or Ag Set it Straight will help smooth the locks during the drying process. A flat iron can be used to finish with a protective / shine spray or light oil such as Ag firewall or The Oil for coarser or frizzier s. What kind of person would work best for this look? This look is best suited for someone who has some time to blow their hair dry and style, or at least to smooth it out once it’s dry. This works with warmer skin tones and can fit any face shape to the length around the head or fullness of the bang / fringe with slight changes. What’s your best tip for someone looking at this look? Going with what you’re happy with would be the best tip. If you prefer to go with a heavier bang. That’s perfect, too, if you like wispy. This look is perfect for any kind of fringe. It’s also important to use a toning shampoo to keep the blonde bright if you have minerals in your water or wait between touch-ups for more than four weeks. Blonde Pixie Shag
/ QA with Jennifer Savage Hairstylist @ Atelier by Square Salon in Las Vegas Nv and Salon Santo Tomas in San Diego Ca How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? While the hair is wet, use a quarter-sized quantity of Kerastase Ciment Thermique to protect the heat. Follow for a long-lasting body and control with a lemon-sized amount of Kerastase Mousse Bouffante. Using 1 1/4-inch curling iron after drying to curl large sections of the hair causally away from the ends. Complete with my favorite Oribe Dry Thickening Spray. This spray offers an insane body and keep while retaining a lightweight, modern finish. The next day can also be used as a revitalizer type and dry shampoo. What kind of person would work best for this look? This look is awesome for any woman who does not sacrifice sophistication to embrace the youthful, lived-in look. The pixie shag is great for all face shapes, including longer faces with shorter styles that can sometimes have challenges. With this look, all textures look great too! For the modern woman who wants to look fresh and a little funky, it’s an absolutely outstanding choice. What’s your best tip for someone who takes this look into consideration?
Silver Chin-Length Graduated Bob
/ QA in Edmonton Canada with> Jessica Lakis Hairstylist @ Headlines Salon and Spa This bob is a very flexible haircut. The sharp line creates such a polished clean look whether it’s curly or straight. For older women, it’s a timeless haircut that never goes out of style! In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? To create fullness in her fine hair, I used Aveda Pure Abundance Style Prep for this style. I used Aveda Volumizing Tonic for extra pressure at the roots and finished with Aveda Air Control Hairspray. What kind of person would work best for this look? For all s, this style is great, but particularly for fine hair, as it can make it look fuller. Especially oval, it’s great on most face shapes. How would this look be defined and what’s your favorite thing about it? Women’s haircuts that want a professional look as well as a fun flirty look will like this style. What I like most about this lob is the ability to use multiple colors to cover gray hair in the locks to add interest! In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? I used balayage color for Socolor and Pravana. I have conditioned and finished with Matrix Biolage Sugar Shine with Ag Keratin Repair. I would consider using a Kenra Total Blowout or Keratin Infusion Therapy Complex blowout cream. What kind of person would work best for this look? What’s your best tip for someone who takes this look into consideration? My tip to wear this look is to keep the new color of growth and every other visit get a deep conditioning treatment. Have fun with it too and enjoy the balayage’s different looks as it grows up!
Edgy Platinum Asymmetrical Bob
QA with> Jocelyne Hershey San Francisco Hairstylist Ca How would you describe this look and what is your favorite? This is an edgy asymmetric platinum colored bob which due to its fine hair texture is very moving and enjoyable. In order to help create and maintain this look, which products would you recommend? At home, this look is relatively low maintenance. If she wanted to rock it out and make it look messier, she could use some shine product or a beach spray. A blue shampoo and conditioner helps to keep the platinum tone. I think this look is very versatile. With both curly hair and fine straight hair, I did this look. There are tweaks that you can make to match the features of most older women. At home, styling is simple, but every six weeks, the cut and color will need to be preserved. What’s your best tip for someone who takes this look into consideration? Clearly go for it! It’s a fun type of statement and it’s really easy to make a perfect look at home.
Short Spike Red Pixie

QA with creator styleIvis Hernandez Hair Artist @ Against Grain in Spring Tx How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? Straight Razor Undercut
QA with Katie Manselle Salon Owner and Stylist @ Durham Culture Hair Studio How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? This is a long undercut bob cut with a straight razor to keep the perimeter soft. It’s still striking, effortless. How versatile is my favorite thing about this look. Which products would you recommend to help create and maintain this look? The products I used were Oribe Matte Waves (whether blown into the hair or put into dry hair) Impermeable (inserted as a heat-protective and anti-humidity hold) and Oribe Dry Texture Spray to finish and enhance the beach texture. On almost any female, I think this look works. Knowing the appropriate length for your face (as high as the length of the chin or as long as the length of the collarbone is up to your hairdresser). The one category on which this might not work is those with ultra-thin hair. This is only because the concept of big waves on these locks is more complicated without stringy appearing. I’d suggest a blunt bob in this case. What’s your best tip for someone looking at this look? Ask your hairdresser to show you how you can then practice these effortless waves! Give it three attempts before tossing it into the towel. It should be easy to style and take a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes! Learning how to wave your hair will give you an easy two-day look and three-day look. I also recommend that you have a dry shampoo for your roots and oil for the days you don’t wash your hair. I like Dry Shampoo Oribe and Gold Lust Oil Oribe. Use these on days as a means of keeping your hair healthy / fresh and absorbing any unwanted oils on the scalp. You’re going to smell heavenly too!

Layered Bob or Lob ‘
Layered Pixie
This haircut is a fun, asymmetrical asymmetrical pixie. I love haircuts like this because it’s easy for the guest to do as little or as much with their style as they want and still look fabulous. We’ve also taken her to a bright icy blonde to plump her hair and give the cut some serious attitude and show off the detail. Any advice that someone thinks about it? I think this cut and color is perfect for someone who has little day-to-day upkeep, but is ok to get it changed in at least 6 weeks. This haircut has no age or race that you can rock this as a 13-year-old or 70-year-old and as long as you know that everyone else is going to see that shine through. All you need is an awesome color safe shampoo like Evo’s Ritual Salvation followed by Fabuloso Platinum Conditioner to keep warm tones out of the way. Dry towel and spray Evo’s Shebang-a-bang dry spray wax let it air dry and blow dry and add a little more Shebang-a-bang to produce as much texture as you like. Take the opportunity to have fun and be sexy! Side-Swept Bob
QA with Amanda Galmiche Hair Colorist / St. Pete Fl Extension Specialist How would you describe this look?QA with Tia Ault Hairstylist / Salon Owner style designer @ Snowflake Rogue Salon Spa Az How would you describe this look? This textured lob is one of my favorites for fine hair on my clients as well as on those who grow short hair. It gives some style to the uncomfortable grow out of length. The seamless layers create the extra volume boost that everyone loves. A Rooted Blonde is a great option for those who love to be a brighter blonde but who don’t want it to grow harsh. It is perfect for those who want a blonde color with low maintenance. Any advice that someone thinks about it? All s, including straight or curly hair, can wear this look. I find that some kind of wave or curl in it looks best. For all other s, I recommend using a 1-inch curling iron or wand on fine hair that has trouble holding a curl and 1.25-inch. I finish the look with a spray with a dry texture. Usually I’m using Unite Texturiza. This medium hold spray adds fullness of texture volume. Hold the spray on dry hair 8-10-inches away. Long Bob Curls
QA with Courtney Major Student style creator @ Aveda Nashville Institute in Nashville Tn How would you describe this look? For a wide range of face shapes, this cut and design is versatile. The cut is ideal for someone who wants to make a bold statement about their skin, but because of their extremely busy lifestyle, keep it simple. The suggestions that someone feels about it? Aveda Invati Vanced Shampoo Conditioner and Scalp Revitalizer are recommended for this look to add volume and avoid breakage that affects how full your hair looks. Prepare towel-dried hair with Tonic and Phomolient Aveda Thickening. To extract most of the moisture, flat cover the skin. Next section the hair and round the hair as the brush rolls up and down the hair shaft to form the curl’s base. Twist the brush to create the curl when you release the hair. If required, use a 1-inch Marcel iron to boost curl. Use Aveda Air Control to finish the style for flexible hold and moisture resistance.
QA Stylist / Colorist / Regional Educator Victoria Mirzoeva Stylist @ Floyd’s 99 in La Grange Il How would you describe this look? The textured pixie cut is one of my favorite hairstyles. I love all of this style. You can mix short, clean sides with this style and have a fun texture on top that is longer. The suggestions that someone feels about it? For a woman who loves to be quirky and special in style, I suggest this slice. This style is perfect for people who don’t like doing a lot with their hair but still want to look amazing. This hairstyle matches almost every form of the face and any texture of the skin. I recommend the 99 Styling Cream from Floyd for styling. It gives the hair, which looks natural and holds as long as you like, an incredible texture.
Living in and very naturalThe suggestions that someone feels about it? This look is achievable and a lived-in look very natural. I love the whole trend that has been lived-in right now. We remained very true to the color of her natural hair. Just by removing any dullness and adding more vibrant tones, we enhanced it. We also remained in a smoother fashion very similar to her simple texture. Her look remains true to the hair with which she was born, and I think this is a good advice for any client considering this look. Stay in the realm of your unique beauty and improve your natural tones and textures with your stylist.
QA with Melanie Stipdonk Master Hairstylist @ Pomme Salon in Kelowna Bc How would you describe this look? This look is really great to let loose and express naturally curly hair. There’s a lot of texture to help make the movement really fun and playful. Not much styling is required and the best styling on your pillow is likely to be done! The suggestions that someone feels about it? Stylingis straightforward. Start with wet or damp hair and add an oil spray with some texture and/or pomadethen a quick allle focusing on the cute bits around your face to accentuate your best features. This is the perfect cut for low-maintenance but high-impact styling everyday. If you add height to your hair, it will make you feel bigger and longer while styling it with bangs, if that is a concern, it will control the length of your face and forehead. This haircut is great for hair that is thicker in the vicinity of the roots but appears to thin towards the ends. Cutting off those scraggly ends will elevate your esthetics and compliment you a lot.
Face-framing Shag
Face-framing Shag
A modern shag is a great way to fake volume as all texture adds life to even the lifelessest hair. QA with Ceci Coon Stylist style creator @ Marquee Salon in Oakland Ca How would you describe this look? This haircut is a modern shag assumption. It focuses on face-framing layers that create softness around the face and volume at the crown. It is a cut that works at any length or density by simply adjusting the number of layers that someone would have based on their overall shape / style. For someone trying to plump up their hair and add movement, this is a great cut. Styling is easy because either air can be dried with a salt spray and/or smoothing cream, or dried with a thickening spray or mousse can blow to create a little more lift on the crown. I found that a modern shag works for all face shapes and s because you can choose where to highlight volume or width and where to upgrade or create wave. I think it’s a great cut for someone who doesn’t like to spend a lot of time on their hair as well as someone who likes to look good but is low maintenance.
Pixie Cut
TexturedVersatile Blunt Bob
QA with Ali Keogh Owner style creator @ Dubai Headkase Salon Uae How would you describe this look? It is the flexibility that enables the treatment of the user. Without the layers, styling with a quick and simple blow dry for women on the go is quick and easy, but with a soft wave, it can look beautiful and stylish to give it some movement and sass. The suggestions that someone feels about it? You always have to keep in mind the natural volume and movement you already have with full haircuts like this. This cut will fit with most fabrics, but if you have thick and unruly skin, my suggestion is to keep it a little longer as it bounces up and looks a little triangular, which is not quite flattering to most face shapes. Do as much as possible with the natural texture and do with the motion you have by using a brand like the Hair. Resort spray from Kevin Murphy. I used a large flat iron at a low temperature to touch the waves in the image and worked it loosely through the skin. Just note that you want to keep it pointed down to the floor while curling with the flat iron and handle it firmly to prevent marks in the skin. Complete with your salt spray and spray a little powder of brightness and go around the day.
Samantha Terlizzi Hairstylist QA style creator @ Be Inspired Hair Salon in Long Beach Ny How would you describe this look? This is a graded or stacked asymmetric bob in the back. The suggestions that someone feels about it? In order to wear this look, hair should be medium to fine and manageable. If the hair is too thick or coarse, I advise you to get a keratin treatment. For fine limp hair, I recommend Goldwell Kerasilk Volume Plumping Cream. Blow dry, rolling the hair under a 1-inch round comb.
Color Pops
QA with Vivian Colorist / Hairstylist design designer @ Michael Blunt Salon in Fresno Ca How would you describe this look? With this look, our goal was to create more depth with color pops. We developed a balayage look that mainly creates more light around the face with some dimension. The effect was a kind of halo flowing through the back of the hair with soft tones and a higher contrast around the hairline. The suggestions that someone feels about it?QA with Andrea Ramirez Mentor Stylist / Master Color Expert style creator @ Limon Salon in San Jose Ca How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? This is a slightly textured graduated bob. It’s a classic shape that I love because it can be styled in different ways. What products do you recommend for this look to be maintained and recreated? I recommend Oribe’s Supershine immediately blow out balm for this client with coarse hair. We finished with the Dry Texture Spray from Oribe. This look is perfect for the slightly lower maintenance customer who likes living-in hair.
California Beach Babe
How are you going to describe this look and what is your favorite? I’d describe the look as a beach baby in California. My favorite part is that it’s a textured look that’s fun and easy to do! The hair gets more color and more enjoyable as the day goes on. What products do you recommend for this look to be maintained and recreated? In order to give it a beach effect, I suggest Pravana Volumizing Foam and Moroccan Oil Texture Spray Wax. To get the loose waves, use a 1-inch curler or wand. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? Most face shapes should match because the length is just past the shoulder. Just remember not to overlay the hair or lose the haircut shape.
