Microsoft doesn’t have much room to complain about console sales as the Xbox One outsells the Xbox 360 at this point in its lifespan. Still with Sony engulfing the lion’s share of console sales that rightly got to hurt? Being in a distant second place is never pleasant. Virtual and augmented reality will be in the future if the buzz is to be believed to be a major component of the video games. A number of big-name headsets from the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive on PC to the PlayStation VR on PS4 are scheduled to be released in 2016. Microsoft is also expected to release the HoloLens Augmented Reality Headset this year but it won t tie in the Xbox One as closely as the other Headsets do to their respective platforms. The HoloLens headset has all its components built into it rather than depending on a Laptop or console. So how it’s going to tie in with Xbox One “or even if it’s going to be seen at all remains. The relationship between Microsoft and Oculus that culminated in each Oculus Rift coming bundled with an Xbox One controller is also worth mentioning. Whether the Xbox One is strong enough to push VR games on the Rift or whether the two companies are interested in using it that way but it’s likely is unknown.
