Vesper iStock.com Can you choose between a martini gin or vodka? Split the difference and make yourself a vesper drink popularized in Casino Royale by James Bond who orders you one. Instead of vermouth, this potent twist on the martini includes both gin and vodka along with Lillet Blanc Bon appétitis recette. Ingredients: 1 ounce of premium vodka 1?2 ounce Lillet Blanc 1 lemon Directions: keep a big (preferably 1-inch) ice cube in the palm of your hand, use the back of a stirring spoon to break it into large pieces; put it in a mixing glass. Repeat for glass with enough ice to cover. Apply gin vodka and Lillet Blanc and quickly mix 50 times in a circular motion using a bar spoon (the shaker’s surface will become very cold and frosty). Strain martini into a chilled glass of coupe through a Hawthorne strainer (or a big slotted spoon). Strain any leftover drinks into a sidecar (or a tiny glass in an ice bowl) set over ice. Ingredients: 3 large stalks of celery from the heart including leaves plus extra to serve 36 ounces of tomato juice 2 teaspoons of horseradish 1 teaspoon of rubbed yellow onion 1?2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1?2 teaspoon of celery salt 1?4 teaspoon of kosher salt 12 dashes Tabasco or other hot sauce or to taste 1 1?2 cups of vodka In a large bottle, add the re-salted salt 1?4 teaspoon of kosher salt 12 dashes With the food processor working pour 1?4 of the tomato juice mixture over the feed tube into the food processor. A vodka tonic is one of the easiest vodka cocktails you can make, but it doesn’t have a lot of pizzazz. This New York Times version spices things up with the addition of red pepper flakes. New leaves of mint add dimension too. Ingredients: 2 ounces of vodka 8 to 10 mint leaves Pinch of red pepper flakes Juice of half a lemon Directions: fill the 8-ounce glass with ice cubes, add all ingredients and mix gently, so that mint leaves are not bruise. 4.
Cocktail with Rosemary Greyhound
6 Rosemary sprigs For a cocktail: 2 ounces of vodka 1?2 ounce of simple rosemary syrup 4 ounces of grapefruit juice Directions: mix the sugar and water in a small saucepan and switch medium-low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes, until a syrup forms. (Caution not to allow the mixture to boil.) Add the rosemary to a heat-proof pan. Pour over the syrup and let sit for a minimum of 1 hour. Once the simple rosemary syrup has been prepared it will keep for up to 10 days in a sealed jar in the refrigerator. Filling a highball glass with ice to make the cocktail. Attach easy sirop and grapefruit juice to the rosemary vodka. Stir to blend. Garnish with a rosemary sprig, and serve. 5.
