Unlike a new biography, it’s good. I felt [ Walter ] Isaacson’s book was a great lesser disservice he had told The New Yorker. The latest biography, however, does more than simply put a sunnier spin on the myth of work. In Becoming Steve Jobs, here are five surprising facts.

1. The tale that current Apple CEO Tim Cook once agreed to donate part of his liver to Jobs was perhaps the most shocking revelation to come from the new biography. As Fast Company Jobs reported, in 2009 he was on a waiting list for a liver transplant but the severity of his condition made it unlikely that he would get a donor in time. Cook decided to test his blood, and found he and Jobs shared the same unusual type of blood. Since going through a series of tests to find out if he was fit enough to be a donor Cook visited Jobs to make the bid. Jobs flatly refused though. Jobs entrusted Disney CEO Robert Iger with the secret of his terminal cancer diagnosis The fact that Jobs had suffered with pancreatic cancer in 2006 was a well-known fact. At that time, though, most people did not know that the cancer had come back. As Jobs said in the opening address he gave in June 2005 at Stanford University, I had the surgery and now I’m fine. A few minutes before Disney CEO Robert Iger was due to announce his company’s acquisition of Pixar for $7.4 billion Jobs on January 24, 2006 revealed to him the true seriousness of his situation. As Robert Iger recalled in an excerpt from Fast Company’s Becoming Steve Jobs: 3. Jobs considered buying Yahoo Robert Iger and Steve Jobs became close friends after the successful completion of the Disney Pixar contract. Jobs had asked Iger to join Apple’s board, and the two executives talked three to four times a week, according to Fast Company. Even inside Apple’s notoriously secretive design lab Iger was allowed. While for fiduciary reasons the Disney CEO was unable to join Apple’s board, he made a point of refusing a similar offer from Google because he knew it would jealousize Jobs. While Iger wasn’t officially part of Apple’s leadership Jobs would often speak to him about potential deals. It came up according to an excerpt from buying Yahoo. While the deal clearly never happened, considering what Apple could have done with Yahoo’s properties such as its search engine and email service is fascinating. Steve Jobs even said that if I had a spiritual partner at Apple, it’s Jony. The designer thought he might be fired as part of the company restructuring that Jobs initiated when he returned to Apple in 1997, though, before I ve got to know Jobs. As described in Fast Company’s excerpt from Becoming Steve Jobs: Steve made the long journey to the Design Lab I ve for the first time was anxious and apprehensive. He had already started talking about reengaging Harmut Esslinger [ the Frog Design founder who created the first Mac ] that very first time we met, “I ve says. I think he came to the studio simply to kill me. “Then Jobs took an immediate liking to I ve and decided that he was wasting his talents. I’ve designed some of the most popular Apple products, including iPod iPhone and iPad. A profile of I ve recently published in The New Yorker described him as one of the two most powerful people at Apple now. 5. Jobs held a grudge against Neil Young Although the legendary musician offered peace according to a story recalled by co-author Brent Schlender through Fast Company: I knew Steve enjoyed listening to vinyl records from time to time so I agreed to call him to see if he would like to get the LPs. On the second ring Steve answered the phone and I explained what I was calling for. We had spoken a year or so before of Neil’s criticisms and I felt this might ease his grudge. Fat luck. Choose the healthier version

It’s hard to fully and quickly change your diet. Setting yourself on a strict diet is almost a surefire strategy for selecting healthier food choices to consume to trick the body into consuming less calories and fat. You can even delete additional condiments or add-ons which also add extra calories. For example why not go for a veggie or tofu burger with low-fat or soy cheese instead of going for a cheeseburger. Sure it can feel like a bit of a stretch of taste-wise but thank you for your summer beach body. When you like you’re not completely up to that, just try not to choose any cheese without condiments. Always continue to be mindful of whether the food you eat makes you bloat. There are few things that are as painful as flocking with any kind of gassiness or abdominal pain on the beach as you attempt to expose those abs for which you have worked so hard. WebMD advises against overeating too many fatty foods that steer clear of carbonated drinks and avoid bloat / gas causing foods such as beans and lentils and vegetables such as cauliflower and Brussels sprouts that are more difficult to digest because they contain starches and sugars that cause unattractive bloating and gassiness. 3.

Get enough sleep

The National Sleep Foundation suggests that adults aged 26 to 64 be given an average of 7 to 9 hours per night-secret fat-loss arm. It feels easier to make better food decisions snack less when we get enough good quality sleep, and avoid excess calories. Sleep also helps to balance the hormones that control the cravings of hunger food, and even how often we move during the day. Start developing a good sleep routine now — not just to support your summer body along with the above-mentioned benefits but because it is good for you. 4.

Sunscreen

One out of every five Americans will get skin cancer at some point in their lives according to the Skin Cancer Foundation. The risk of developing it is directly related to the amount and intensity of ultraviolet light exposure you receive from the sun about 90 percent of the time. Besides cancer exposure to the sun especially during the summer months, the skin can also age, producing a leathery texture and plenty of unwanted wrinkles.
