Twitter has exploded with tweets from frightened audiences, though Rotten Tomatoes currently boasts a rating of 100 percent suggesting universal critical assessment of the film. The film was directed by the man behind REC Paco Plaza and is set in Madrid in the 1990’s. Also protagonist Veronica recently lost her boyfriend in a motorcycle accident. So she holds a seance with her two friends Rosa and Diana in an attempt to make contact with the man. However they mistakenly contact Veronica’s father, who is also dead (of course!), while using an Ouija board to get in touch with the deceased. The story is based on an incident in real life which took place in 1992. A young girl died in the hospital, mysteriously, right after she was found “playing” with an Ouija board. The case is unsolved until this day, and remains a mystery. Alone this realization sends a few chills down the spine. The film features, apart from the plot, an eerie background score coupled with freakish sound effects that shift objects and some horror cliches here and there. “3/3.1919.jpg” Figure 1 Image Courtesy of netflix.com Now we have Sandra Escacena, who takes on the lead role of Veronica, coming to the actors involved in the film.
