ByTechNadu Staff-May 14, 2017.209 Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + have come with faster Ufs 2.1 internal storage chips from day one. However in some device variants the Samsung also uses the previous Ufs 2.0 chips. The recent report suggests that Samsung is likely to use the Ufs 2.0 chips from Toshiba which are apparently slower than the Ufs 2.1 chips. Ufs 2.1 chips have removed from the official spec page in Galaxy S8 device. Samsung has not yet issued an official statement claiming that secretly eliminating the Ufs 2.1 capacity would help prevent the kind of uproar Huawei saw using two separate P10 memory chips. The company’s already apologized for the P10 memory chip change. According to the Xda Developers article, Samsung might use Toshiba’s Ufs 2.0 memory chips in the Galaxy S8 variants powered by the Snapdragon835. While chips from Ufs 2.1 and Ufs 2.0 have a sequential reading speed of around 800 Mb / s and 500 Mb / s, this is not representative of real world results. Right now on the official Samsung specs page you’ll find that it doesn’t mention the Ufs 2.1 memory chip anymore as it did before. The screenshots above also clearly show that on that page Samsung has chosen to delete the chip.ByTechNadu Staff-May 14, 2017.209 Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + have come with faster Ufs 2.1 internal storage chips from day one.
