The actor Robert Boyd Holbrook, was born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, on September 1, 1981. His parents are Ellen and Don Holbrook.
He was discovered while he had a part-time job, as a carpenter in a Kentucky theater. A young woman who had been to see the play being performed there asked her if she wanted to go to New York City to become a model.
Thus began her modeling career that allowed her to travel across Europe and Asia, and earn enough money to study film at New York University, where she received an SCPS Certificate in 16mm film (photography, lighting, and writing editing). . Boyd also took classes in writing and film history at Columbia University; acting at the William Esper Studio; in addition to completing the prestigious two-year Meisner program, as well as the 2-year Shane Ann Younts – Voice and Speech program.

He is currently working on the upcoming series “Narcos“, a chronicle of the life of drug trafficker Pablo Escobar; where he plays the leading role of Steve Murphy.
Besides modeling and acting Boyd is an artist who shows his work through photography, working for David Armstrong, and also sculpture. He opened his first art exhibition called “Iscariot” at the RARE Gallery in Chelsea, New York, from April 19-May 17, 2008.
